American Legion Auxiliary Chapin Unit 193 receives grant
American Legion Auxiliary Chapin Unit 193 recently was awarded a Mission in Action grant of $2,500.00 from the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation. The American Legion Auxiliary Foundation assists American Legion Auxiliary Units in branding their programs, so that the Auxiliary Units are more recognizable and visible in their communities.
Auxiliary Unit 193 Membership Chairman Diane Yeoman wrote the grant which outlined the programs and events that Unit 193 regularly support, and how they intend to use the purchased items in support of their mission. With the grant money, Unit 193 was able to purchase a branded canopy (with sides), table covers, and retractable banners. The banners describe the Auxiliary mission, Palmetto Girls State Program, Poppy Program and Auxiliary service objectives, to help educate people about the programs supported by the American Legion Auxiliary. This was the first grant awarded to this unit.
At the well-attended Chapin Labor Day celebration, on Clark Street, you found the American Legion Auxiliary Chapin Unit 193 manning their new canopy with all of their newly purchased branding items on full display. If you see the now easily recognizable Chapin Unit 193 set up in the community, be sure to stop and see what they are up to.
